We Review:
Mustad Ultrapoint Fastach  Clips

Reviewed by Kevin Power
WE HAVE BEEN USING THIS NEW CLIP SYSTEM IN VARIOUS LURE-FISHING APPLICATIONS and have found them to be one of the best solutions for quick lure changing. First, they are as easy as a genie clip to attach to your jig-head, lure or terminal bait rig - particularly when you have cold hands. Second: we’ve had an issue, particularly with genie clips and soft plastic jig heads, where the small jig-head attachment point has jammed in the genie clip, effectively ruining the action of the lure - or worse, levering the jig-head out of the snapper’s mouth. Pound-for-pound rating these new Mustad clips are more secure and provide the lures with more freedom of movement than a snap swivel ever could, which is primarily why snap swivels are not used on lures. We have been running various sizes of the Fastach clips on a range of lures: soft plastic jig heads, poppers, stick-baits, trolling lures and a variety of slow jigs, when regular lure changing is required to ascertain the most effective lure for the day. The clips are available as clip only or swivel/clip combination, and range in size from 15lb to 130lb. Light, strong and easy to use, these have replaced the clip swivels and genie clips in my tackle box.
